Schize

Project type

Architecture

Schize was a project extension of an existing building, the Metropolis, which contained a local library and an exhibition space. The project developed and tinkered with volume, themes of black and white, and full and void, to create a space that reflected ‘wonder’, ‘labyrinth’ and ‘misguidance’. The aim was to use these themes to create the impression of reading a book, and more specifically, to emphasise the idea that there are numerous ways to interpret a novel. This, in turn, complemented the use and nature of the building.
